Training Ethical Leaders for a Changing World
The Akomapa Academy prepares students and emerging health professionals to navigate the ethical, relational, and systems challenges of global health. Its semester-long learning experience combines faculty dialogue, case-based study, community practice, mentorship, and guided reflection.
Why It Matters
Health professionals make decisions that affect communities, institutions, and public trust. Ethical leadership helps them examine power, listen across differences, use evidence responsibly, and build solutions with the people those solutions are intended to serve.
Most health professional training emphasizes clinical knowledge but overlooks ethics, power analysis, and community partnership — the skills that determine whether interventions help or harm.

The Academy combines faculty dialogue, case-based study, community practice, and mentorship — preparing leaders who build solutions with the people those solutions are intended to serve.
Curriculum
A 10–16 weeks program covering Akomapa ethos, NCD systems, ethical leadership, community-driven care, research stewardship, and closing reflection.
